Do you offer make-up lessons?
In order to maintain the integrity and quality of our swimming lessons, we do not offer make-up lessons for cancellations beyond our control. This includes but is not limited to fecal accidents, weather closures, power outages, etc.  We have found make-up lessons to be more of an interruption to the learning process of the class than a benefit to the swimmer. There are no refunds for missed or canceled lessons. Private and semi private lessons may be rescheduled once if done with a 24 hours notice.

Do you have a schedule of lesson times?
Yes, group lessons begin in April and continue thru October. Please click the swim lesson schedule link on the website. Private and semi private lessons are scheduled on a first come first serve basis and although we do our best to accommodate the days and times that work for you; we can not make guarantees. Our staff will work with you to find a day and time that meets your needs. Our goal is to make sure everyone who wants to learn to swim can. Your convenience is our priority.

Can I request a specific instructor?
We are aware that different students respond to different teaching personalities. We will always try to respond to these requests. Teachers may move days and times as their schedules change throughout the year. We will never guarantee an instructor, and we will always reserve the right to change instructors if other considerations require it. While we do our best to keep the continuity of instructors, there are occasions in which you may have a different instructor.

Classes with less than three students will be cancelled. If a group class has only one or two students, as always, we will do our best to move you to a class that fits your schedule.

How long is each swim lesson?
All of the lessons we offer are 30 minutes long. In our experience, 30-minute lessons work best for children. If lessons were longer than 30 minutes, we would run the risk of losing the child’s attention and not gaining the maximum benefit of the lesson.

What are my payment options?

We do not offer refunds. It’s your responsibility to make sure that any vacations; appointments or other activities do not interfere with the class and time your child’s is enrolled in. Refunds are not available once a session has started and fees are not pro-rated for missed classes. Credit slips will be issued of you must cancel or change a class minus the cancelation fee.

Are private lessons better than group lessons?
Our group lessons have a low instructor/student ratio (no more than 5 students per class). Therefore, our group lessons are very effective. Swim activities are geared toward total group participation and children tend to learn from one another.

Private lessons provide your child with more individualized attention and instruction. We feel you know your child’s individual personality best, and we can also make a recommendation based on your child's attention span.

Swim more than once a week?
Consistent swim practice produces outstanding learning results. We encourage students to swim with us once or twice per week to enhance their learning experience at the pool. Once a week lessons provide the foundation for learning the skill of swimming that lasts a lifetime. If you would like your child to swim more than once a week, select an additional day and time from our available schedule.

How do you handle crying children?
A child crying during a lesson is extremely common. They often become nervous in a new environment and/or experience separation anxiety from the parent. We encourage you to let the instructor resolve your child’s fear and gain their trust. The child will often relax after just one session, but sometimes take multiple sessions to gain the full confidence of your child.

If your child has a fever, or any stomach or digestion problems, they are too sick for swim class

When will my child be “Drown-proofed”?
There is no such thing as being “Drown-Proofed”. We teach our students how to love and respect the water, and that they can never swim alone. In fact, adults should never swim alone either!
